FAQs
What types of deals does Parascope typically work on?
We specialize in private business acquisitions and investments—ranging from first-time operator purchases to strategic equity injections and follow-up capital calls. We do not work on real estate, startups, or passive portfolio plays. Our focus is on operating businesses where clarity can make or break the outcome.
When should we engage Parascope?
Ideally, right after signing an LOI—when your deposit is still refundable and there's time to assess the business before final commitment. Some clients reach out even earlier, to help decide whether to pursue the deal at all. We also support investors during follow-on funding rounds or when ongoing ventures require a fresh evaluation.
What’s included in a typical engagement?
Our process includes financial review, operational assessment, leadership and culture interviews, and strategic risk analysis. We don’t just collect information—we interpret it, challenge assumptions, and deliver a clear picture of what’s under the hood. Every engagement ends with a written report and a full walkthrough session with our team.
Who are your clients?
We work with investors, operators, family offices, lenders, and strategic partners looking to make high-confidence decisions. Whether you’re buying a business, investing in one, or evaluating an ongoing venture, our role is to give you independent clarity before further commitment.
Are you lawyers or accountants?
Our team includes financial and operational professionals—including a licensed CPA—but we do not offer legal or accounting services or replace the role of legal counsel or your accountant. Instead, we provide an integrated due diligence lens that spans operations, finance, leadership, and strategy.
We frequently work alongside our clients professionals, such as their lawyers or accountants. Whether the client already has trusted professionals or we help them find the right professionals for their specific needs. Our role complements—not replaces—the work of legal and accounting teams, ensuring every deal is approached with full-spectrum clarity.
Can you monitor a business post-investment?
Yes. We offer ongoing monitoring to track business performance over time - especially those we’ve supported through due diligence. This includes periodic reviews of financials, operational updates, and leadership shifts, providing an outside lens to keep investors informed and confident.
How long does a project typically take?
Timelines vary based on deal size and complexity, but most projects fall within a 3–8 week range. We move quickly and communicate regularly throughout the process. When speed is critical, we can accelerate timelines without compromising quality.
Do you provide due diligence in specialized areas or industries—like legal, compliance, or technology?
While our core focus is operational, financial, and strategic due diligence, we often partner with specialists in areas such as legal, regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, and other technical domains. If a deal calls for deep subject-matter expertise, we bring in vetted experts—or work alongside your existing advisors—to ensure nothing critical gets missed.
